Smaller Perfumes

Top Left: I acquired my very first Lavanila perfume from doing work experience at an organic shop/cafe. The owner was impressed with my work on the very first day, and gave me one of her extra testers. I was pretty much over the moon as I have never seen Lavanila stocked anywhere else in Sydney. The retail price was pretty steep for 10ml at $34.95! Wearing Lavanila Vanilla Grapefruit has always given me joyful memories.

Middle Two: In 2013 I ventured into the perfume oil department and Al-Rehab perfumes provide great example of quality Arabian oils. They do not cost your entire pocket money as I bought mine for about $8AUD including shipping to my mailbox. They last for days on your skin even when washed. They don't project as well as some of my perfumes, but are definitely enough for you to enjoy it from time to time. I am not affiliated in any manner.

Fragrance Review: Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Flora Nymphea

How gorgeous is this beehive bottle?

Flora Nymphea to me, is a lovely, clean and romantic honeysuckle-like scent. It opens up with delicate green white florals and orange blossom. Fresh and inspiring. It never merges into the state of being 'too fresh' or 'sharp,' as the red berries provide a gentle tart and zesty element.

Then comes the syringa dripping with honey. The honey in this is not the same as the honey in say, L'Occitane Immortelle de Corse, which is a heavy, caramellized, beeswax type of honey. The honey in Flora Nymphea is rather, a light, floral-nectar type of sweetness. I envision a garden of white florals caressed in summer time mist.

As FN reaches it's final stages, the syringa, red berries and nectar notes lose their character as a floral woody musk remains. The floral turns a bit powdery along with the woods which keep it remaining natural in essence. White musk plays its part with the touch of honey that is remaining, leaving a sensual feel.

Flora Nymphea is bright, vivacious and sparkling with nature. This perfume actually reminds me of sucking on honeysuckle nectar as a child during summertime. So precious.
